We’re So Glad You’re Here
"I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink,
Welcome to the Episcopal Parish of Alton (EPA), a historic 179 year old family sized urban parish located along the Mississippi River just north of the St. Louis Metropolitan Area. We are a member of the Springfield Diocese and a Eucharistic Community with two worship sites serving the Riverbend of Illinois – St. Paul’s Church, located in downtown Alton on the corner of Market & Third Streets, and Trinity Chapel located on State Street in North Alton.
For those seeking a church home or simply visiting the beautiful and bountiful Riverbend area for a weekend, our parish offers a friendly loving atmosphere where you and your family can worship and hear the “Good News of God’s Love through Jesus Christ.” The EPA emphasizes traditional worship and hymns while offering a variety of worship, music, educational, fellowship and service opportunities for all ages.
St. Paul’s Church offers Nursery care free of charge during the Sunday worship service and Church School is available September through May for children and youth ages 4-18. Fellowship groups like weekly Prayer Group, Bible Study, or our monthly Book Club are available to adults of all ages and at the EPA, you will find us to be a loving and caring parish actively supporting our community through a number of outreach programs that help people in need.
We rejoice you chose to visit our website today and hope you’ll come and worship with us soon. When you visit the Episcopal Parish of Alton, you’ll be greeted warmly by our parishioners at both St. Paul’s Church and Trinity Chapel and we hope you’ll join us for coffee hour and fellowship following the worship service so we have an opportunity to welcome you personally.
God’ Blessings and Peace to You!
“I was glad when they said unto me; Let us go into the house of the Lord.” - Psalms 122:1
